Dental Implants in Killara

Restore Your Smile Long-Term

If you have missing teeth but don’t fancy the thought of a conventional bridge or denture, Killara Dental provides dental implants in East Killara as an alternative treatment option. Supporting patients across the North Shore and surrounding suburbs, dental implants offer a long-term solution for replacing missing teeth while maintaining function and appearance.

Seen as the gold standard of missing tooth replacement, a dental implant permanently replaces a tooth root. It is surgically inserted into the jawbone to provide fixed support for your gums and bone. This stable foundation allows artificial restorations such as crowns or dentures to be securely attached. The result is a fully functional, natural-looking implant that becomes an integral part of the mouth. To discuss your options, call (02) 9418 2502 or book online to arrange a consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Am I suitable for dental implants?

Dental implants may be suitable if you have one or more missing teeth and good overall oral health. A thorough assessment of your teeth, gums and bone structure is required to determine whether implant treatment is appropriate for you.

  • How long does dental implant treatment take?

Dental implant treatment is completed over several stages and may take a few months in total. This includes time for the implant to integrate with the bone, followed by placement of the final restoration.

  • Which areas do you provide dental implants to?

We provide dental implant treatment to patients in East Killara and across the North Shore, including Lindfield, Pymble, Roseville, Turramurra, St Ives and surrounding suburbs. Patients from across Sydney may also visit our clinic for consultation and treatment.

Are You a Candidate for Dental Implants?

At Killara Dental, we provide dental implants to replace a tooth with severe decay or damage, or as a treatment for tooth loss. Whether you have a single missing tooth or a full arch of missing teeth, dental implants at our East Killara clinic offer a reliable and long-term solution.

Before getting started with dental implant surgery, we carry out a thorough examination of your oral and general health to determine whether dental implants are suitable for you. This allows us to plan your treatment carefully and support the best possible outcome.

  • Dental Implant Surgery

At our East Killara clinic, we offer the latest advancements in dental implants to provide a range of treatment options. We perform guided, non-guided, flap and flapless implant procedures, and will discuss these options with you before treatment.

A key advantage of flapless implant treatment is that the implant is placed into the bone without the need to cut the gum. This means no sutures are required and healing is typically faster.

Once the anaesthetic or sedation has taken effect, the implant is placed into the jawbone using either conventional methods or computer-guided dentistry. The procedure is relatively quick, and patients generally do not feel this part of the process.

  • Abutment Placement

It typically takes three to six months for the implant to integrate with the bone after placement. Once this process is complete, an abutment connector is fitted on top of the implant post.

In some cases, the abutment may be placed at the same time as the implant, although a healing period is often required. The abutment acts as the connection between the implant and the final restoration.

  • Final Restoration

After a further healing period of approximately two to six weeks, we schedule the placement of your final restoration. This may be a dental crown or denture, depending on the number of missing teeth.

At Killara Dental, we also offer same-day CEREC dental crowns as a convenient treatment option.
